| In Finder menu, select "Connect to Server...' (or, type command-k)
Type at Server Address: 'smb://servername/sharename$'
'smb' starts the samba protocol to be able to connect to a Windows fileserver (this protocol is build in in Mac OS X),
'servername' is the name or address of the fileserver the share is located on, and
'sharename' is the name of the share you want to connect to, for example, your personal folder.
The dollar sign at the end is in most cases essential, so don't forget it when you try to connect.
(see the example above). Click 'Connect'.
But, dependent on the settings on the Windows server
you want to connect to, the 'syntax' can be a bit different than the one shown above, you could also try to connect with 'smb://servername' (without the quotes), after which you can login with your username/password combination, that results in a dialog to 'select the volumes to mount', and voila, your connected !
You can save the used address by clicking on the '+' sign in the upper-right corner of this dialog.
After that the address will show up at the Favorite Servers.
