To connect from MacOS X 10.7 with one of the wireless UM networks.
(UMnet for employees, and Eduroam for students) follow the instructions on this page.

What is eduroam ?
As a student or staff member you have wireless access to a host network within the SURFnet target group using the logon data you use at your own institution.

Look here for the eduroam hotspots in the Netherlands.
System Requirements
You need to run MacOS 10.7 ('Lion')
So 'UMnet' is for UM employees, and 'eduroam' for students, watch out to choose the right network.
In this example we show screenshots of the setup for 'UMnet' and 'eduroam'.
First, get the configuration file for the 'eduroam' network or the 'UMnet' network by submitting the appropriate form.
The file will be mailed to your UM mailbox.
If AirPort is turned off, turn it on (in the Finder's menu bar).

Save the attached zip file somewhere on your Mac.

Extract the zip file by doubleclicking it.

Now, doubleclick the 'eduroam.mobileconfig' (or 'UMnet.mobileconfig') file.

Lion's Profile Manager will now ask you to install the eduroam (or UMnet) profile.

Click [Continue]

You can trust the profile, so click [Continue]
Logon with your UM account credentials.

Replace 'steve.jobs', shown in the example, with your own username.

The username must be followed by '@unimaas.nl', see the the example shown.

Students should user their i-number here.

Click [Install]
Authenticate with the local (admin) password for the iMac/MacBook you want the profile installed.

Click [OK]
The profile is now installed, you can use the wireless network you installed the profile for.

Look at System Preferences - Profiles to see the installed profile(s).

Now, connect to 'eduroam' or 'UMnet'.

Therefore click on the AirPort icon in the Finder's menu bar and select 'eduroam' or 'UMnet'.

Click [Join]
If you want to connect to 'eduroam' or 'UMnet',
login with you UM credentials.

Click [Join]
The first time you use this, start Safari, or any other webbrowser.
The first time you use wireless UMnet or eduroam your webbrowser will start after which you have to register your Mac's ethernetcard hardware address.

Logon with your UM mail accountname and password.
